Krish is originally from Sri Lanka, where she got her B.Sc. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Colombo. She obtained her Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr. David Rueda at Wayne State University. During her graduate studies, she applied single molecule FRET to characterize RNA splicing mechanisms in vitro. Upon graduating she joined Dr. Julie Biteen’s group at the University of Michigan, where she studied the carbohydrate degradation by human gut bacteria using single molecule super-resolution imaging in live cells. Currently, as a postdoctoral fellow in the Hogle lab, she is studying viral genome translocation across a membrane at the single particle level.
