Kendra began her training in virology in the lab of Dr. Maribeth Eiden (NIH/NIMH) while still in high school. She went on to earn her B.A. from the University of Cambridge, where her Part II project was conducted under the auspices of Dr. T. David. K. Brown and Dr. Michael Powell (University of Cambridge). Kendra started her time as a graduate student in the Hogle Lab looking at assembly intermediates of poliovirus via EM, but ended up being lured into the world of NMR and her dissertation work focuses on the structural characterization of a component of the murine cytomegalovirus nuclear egress complex.
